Individuals are welcome to self-refer to Minds Matter via the contact page.
Minds Matter does not require a referral from a health practitioner, however, referrals are welcome. This can be particularly helpful where you are currently involved with GP or other health provider who can provide a handover/ relevant background information to support your assessment. We also welcome the opportunity for shared care and collaborative discussions with other supports where a client consents. Health professionals, please initiate a referral via the contact page.

Please note, there is currently limited availability for therapy sessions. Please inquire via the contact section of the website for current availability and wait times.
Emily provides therapy to both youth and adult clients with a wide range of presentations, including anxiety disorders (including OCD), low mood and depression, life transitions and adjustments, burnout, and exploring self identity. Emily recognises the need for a neuroaffirming, flexible approach to therapy and is able to use a range of evidence based therapeutic approaches with clients to help work toward their goals.
Emily also offers practical, skills based approaches to supporting clients’ mental health and wellbeing. This can be especially helpful in periods of burnout and overwhelm. Often, talking therapy can fall short for neurodivergent folk (diagnosed or self identifying!) who are prone to intellectualising their experiences and masking their true feelings. In these cases, Emily draws on her experiences in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and neuroaffirming frameworks to support clients to build and implement practical strategies that harness their strengths and work for them. This may be emotional regulation skills, executive functioning skills (think time management, keeping track of to-do lists etc), sensory skills, and coming up with creative systems and processes that help overcome the unique challenges someone may be facing.

Please note, there is currently limited availability for extended post-diagnostic support sessions. Please inquire via the contact section of the website for current availability and wait times.
Emily provides post-diagnostic support for those that feel they will benefit. This typically looks like short to medium term intervention focused on supporting clients to better understand their diagnosis and what this means for them, as well as implementing recommendations from the assessment.
Feedback sessions are charged at a rate of $240/ hour and can be completed via telehealth (video) or phone call.
In the interest of equity this fee has been set below the recommended fee of $315 suggested by AAPi (Australian Association of Psychologists Inc)'s 2024-2025 Schedule of Recommended Fees.

All sessions run via encrypted telehealth video conferencing. You will require access to a private, safe space with a computer or iPad/tablet (or smartphone, however, this can be limiting) and reliable internet connection. Clients are sent an email with the videolink to be used ahead of the appointment time.
