As Emily is a Clinical Psychologist, diagnosis and comprehensive reports from Emily can be used when applying for the NDIS. The NDIS only accept single clinician reports from Clinical Psychologists, Psychiatrists and Paediatricians.
Fees associated with assessments take into account the comprehensive nature of an NDIS applicable report which are very extensive and time consuming to complete and include reporting on additional functional assessment which the NDIS generally require when considering somebody’s diagnosis and support needs.
The written comprehensive report is typically provided within 3-6 weeks from the date of assessment. Later requests for an additional comprehensive report cannot be guaranteed and will stand subject to service capacity.
Please note, It is important to manage your expectations when applying for NDIS funding. Whilst assessments and reports are completed to robust clinical, professional and ethical standards, Emily has no decision-making power about NDIS Access Requests. The NDIA are the sole decision-makers. For more information on applying for the NDIS, click here.
Disability Support Pension
If applying for the Disability Support Pension (DSP), requests for Emily to complete additional supporting Centrelink paperwork and forms will be charged at a rate of $240/ hour, due to the time intensive nature of the Centrelink paperwork.
comprehensive reports
Not everybody will need or want a comprehensive report. It is important to consider what is right for you.
If, in the case of diagnosis, you intend on applying for support through the NDIS or are considering this option, you should request a comprehensive report. The NDIS have strict requirements and a letter confirming a diagnosis will not suffice.
You may also wish to access a comprehensive report for your own interest, understanding and record keeping. They can also be helpful should you need robust evidence and context of diagnosis in the future (e.g., applying for special consideration and adjustments in education settings, applying for reasonable adjustments in employment settings, capacity to work assessments, or applying for other funding opportunities such as scholarships etc). In some cases, you may have been requested to access a comprehensive assessment from a clinical psychologist by a GP, psychiatrist or paediatrician. In these cases, a comprehensive report is likely needed.
For those that are simply seeking an answer to the question “do I have Autism/ADHD?” and do not see a need for the above, a confirmation letter only may be a more suitable option. This will include a short letter confirming diagnosis where applicable and a brief summary of recommendations (generally provided within 2 weeks of assessment).
