Our assessments are designed to be comfortable, conversational, collaborative, and thorough, with the goal of developing a meaningful understanding of your experiences.

The assessment process typically includes:

• Pre-assessment questionnaires and history forms to help you share your experiences and provide important background information before your appointment.

• A comprehensive diagnostic interview (approximately 2-3 hours) completed via secure video call. Minds Matter uses the MIGDAS-2, a strengths-based, conversational assessment approach that explores your experiences, your way of thinking, and how you navigate the world. You are welcome to take breaks whenever you need.

• Preliminary verbal feedback at the end of your appointment. Where possible, your assessor will share their initial clinical impressions, including whether the available information suggests you are likely to meet the diagnostic criteria. Sometimes this is clear on the day, while other times additional time is needed to carefully consider all of the information gathered. Regardless, we believe you shouldn't have to wait until your report is completed to have an understanding of how your assessment is progressing.

• Optional input from someone who knows you well (e.g., family member, partner, close long-term friend) where possible, can provide valuable additional information. We use structured questionnaires that are sent to you to forward to a person of your choosing.

  We recognise that not everyone has someone who is able, appropriate, or safe to involve, and this will never prevent you from accessing an assessment or diagnosis. This is in line with the National Guideline for the assessment and diagnosis of Autism in Australia.

• Careful review and diagnostic formulation, with all information considered against the current DSM-5-TR criteria for Autism, alongside other factors that may contribute to your experiences.

• A comprehensive report (or confirmation letter, depending on your chosen option), typically emailed within 3-4 weeks of your assessment.

OPTION 1

Autism assessment with confirmation letter

$1,300

Inclusive of a brief summary of diagnostic findings and brief recommendations. Typically around 4 pages in length.

May be a good option for those that:

• Are primarily seeking diagnostic clarity and confirmation for their own interest

• Already have good insight into their support needs or strategies

• Do not require a detailed report for work, study, or funding bodies

• Are less interested in the "why" and data behind the diagnostic outcome
  
  

OPTION 2

Autism assessment with comprehensive report

$1,850

Inclusive of a detailed comprehensive assessment report with detailed recommendations. Typically around 25-35 pages in length.

May be a good option for those that:

• Are seeking a thorough explanation of their experiences, profile and needs

• Have complex histories, co-occurring conditions, or masking presentations

• Want detailed, practical strategies across different areas of life, and a detailed guide for next steps

• Need a document they can share with health professionals, workplaces, support networks or funding bodies

• Have an analytical or "curious mind" approach to learning about themselves and would like to have access to detailed data, scores, and clinical insights to better understand their profile

OPTIONAL ADD-ON

NDIS Access Package

$600 (added to a comprehensive report)

The NDIS considers evidence of how your disability affects your everyday functioning, not just whether you have a diagnosis. To provide the documentation commonly required for an access request, Minds Matter offers an optional NDIS Access Package designed for those that are applying for, considering, or already receiving NDIS (or other government/private) supports.

This package includes:

• Additional NDIS-preferred functional assessment measures (formal evidence of how your disability affects your everyday functioning, needed for NDIS application)

• An additional Funding Justification document (2-3 pages). This document is designed to complement your assessment report by clearly summarising the evidence most relevant to an NDIS access request, clearly outlining functional impacts, support needs, and how your disability affects your everyday life, in line with the NDIS access criteria.

• Completion of the treating clinician section of your NDIS Access Request Form, where appropriate.
  

You can decide whether to add this package at any time during the assessment process. However, if it is requested after your comprehensive report has been finalised and sent, additional fees may apply.
